I brew it for 4 minutes because that was how I was taught, both in the US and in Yunnan. At 4 minutes, it brews up blacker than coffee. I love the depth and complexity of this tea because it engages me in lots of different ways. I've never been interested in describing what a tea tastes like cause it appeared to be too much of a mental process when what's interested me the most was how the tea was engaging me energetically, how it was affecting me. Obviously, I love the taste: the deep, dark, intense richness, sure, but this one brings me a point of stillness unlike any other.
Great old Shu! This tea
Really nice. No fancy perfume but just well harmonized. Quite warm grain-like. A pleasure to drink, 5 infusions and still the same style. Makes you salivate, not astringent.
PS: I just see now that this tea is made of aged leaves, it explains why the liquor is dark even with a quick rince at 60C.
