Taste Note: Tulin 981 pu erh tuo, dried tea leaf was pressed into a bowl shape, dried tea leaves are brown and dark, since this puerh tuo cha pass a long time transform processed, it smells a ripe aroma. Bright tea soup tastes thick, smooth, fresh as xiaguan tea, and has a fast huigan.
How to brew ripe pu erh tea?
Warm up the tea pot with boiling water, put about 5-8g pu-erh tea loose leaf, swirl and discard the water. This helps to damp tea leaves, wash and help them to start steeping, repeat the rinse of the tea leaves once more.
After that pour 8 fl.oz of boiling water that about 90-95ºC (195-205ºF) and cover tea pot for 2-4 minutes, and then enjoy it!
Note: Don't allow the tea leaves in your teapot continue to steep.
This tea started off as something I was not a fan of - the first 2-3 steeps are very soupy, bitter and viscous but as I steeped more and more; fruity aromas of cherries and plums with an underlying chocolate flavour became stronger and stronger. Perfect for a cold rainy day especially here in the UK!
